Learn How To Make a Chia Seeds Pudding, Santosa Style!

Our Chia Seeds pudding is a delicious and deeply nourishing way to start your day. This protein packed combination of super foods can be made smooth and creamy or left with a bit of crunch. It provides highly accessible protein and plenty of omega 3 essential fatty acids. It will also help regulate your bowels and satisfy your cravings for something sweet and creamy.

Chia seeds have been used as a power and endurance food for thousands of years in Mexico and South America. The word “chia” is the Mayan word for strength. Warriors and fleet-footed messengers of the Aztec and Mayan civilisations used chia seeds to keep in top shape. Today they are used by runners and athletes who want a clean healthy source of power and endurance.

Chia seeds help to control blood sugar, reduce sugar cravings and promote hydration. They have an amazing ability to absorb 9-12 times their weight in water. Eating these soaked seeds can help you prolong hydration and retain electrolytes, especially during exertion. When the whole seeds are added to water or other liquids they become gelatinous, forming a delightful natural pudding consistency.

Protein Healthy Food – How to Get the Most Out of Your Meat Free Meals

Protein Healthy Food – How to Get the Most Out of Your Meat Free Meals

Even those who do not choose to be entirely vegan or vegetarian, can gain huge nutritional benefit from eating meat-free meals. The strain put on our digestive systems from consuming too much animal based protein and fat is palpable, not to mention the ethical and environmental impacts that go hand in hand with the consumption of meat.

With farming methods becoming less ethical, the process of stock being reared and slaughtered and arriving on our plates has become so disconnected that it is almost impossible to be truly mindful about our consumption. If we knew what occurred before the hygienic, plastic packaged version, would we really continue to consume animals today?

Complete Proteins

“Complete” proteins, are proteins that contain all 9 essential amino acids in equal amounts. The reason that we need to eat these ‘building blocks’ of protein, is because the human body is unable to produce them on its own. The nutritional excuse of needing meat based protein is no longer a valid one – and to prove this we have compiled a list of COMPLETE plant based protein sources. Even if you can’t cut out animal based consumption completely – at least you can trade a few meals for cleaner, plant based counterparts.

The 10 BEST Sources

Quinoa: Protein, 8 grams per 1 cup serving, cooked

Buckwheat: Protein, 6 grams per 1 cup serving, cooked

The Mean Green Cleaning Machine

This fresh green vegetable juice is jam packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes and phytonutrients that have an instant impact on the body, within minutes of consuming.

Benefits of Green Juice

Green juice has long been known as one of the magical secrets to anti-ageing and optimal cellular health, and one of the biggest reasons for this is the green pigment found within, chlorophyll.

Almost identical in molecular structure to hemoglobin, or blood! Chlorphyll assists the body to produce healthy red blood cells, and oxygenates the blood, which is one of the key defining factors of efficient cell function, organ detoxification and cleansing.

Cancer fighting, and full of free radicals, green juice also assists to keep intestines health intact, has an antiseptic effect on the body, is anti-inflammatory and can regulate blood sugar levels. One of its more interesting attributes is that sufficient consumption can have a naturally deodorizing effect on the sweat glands. Does this mean that the emerald goodness found within the Spring Clean Juice just got sexy?!

Important to our detox center, one of the most noticeable benefits of green juice consumption is the inherently alkalizing effect on the body. Helping to combat disease and inflammation by reducing the acid levels in our bodily environments, the simple addition of green juice every day can help flood the body with health reversing goodness and create cellular utopia.

This green juice’s ingredients are kale, mint, parsley or celery and kiwi, it doesn’t contain fructose, which is increasingly being the blame for the rise of a number of health related issues, not to mention glycation, which is a key part of the internal processes that make us look older.

To ramp up your health and make your internal bio-chemistry a priority, get on the green bandwagon. The Spring Clean juice is a perfect combination of dark leafy goodness, and does just what the name entails, deeply cleansing your insides, giving an injection of natural energy like no other!

Why not try it at Santosa’s Juice Bar in Phuket? Just like us, we are sure that you’ll adopt it straight away!
